  • The more urbanized stream draining Bryans Road exhibited several-fold increases in:
    • sediment
    • excess nutrients
  • Index of biotic integrity for bottom-dwelling invertebrates declined in the more urbanized stream. Site nearest center of urbanization rated “poor.” The same stream, after flowing through Chapman Forest, rated fair.  The s. tributary, with primarily forested watershed, rated good at all sites.
  • Number of fish species declined (by 35%) in the more urbanized stream.
  • River Herring were completely absent in the more urbanized stream.
